PDP shifts inauguration of Anambra governorship campaign council

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has postponed the inauguration of its National Campaign Council for the party’s candidate in the November 6 Anambra State Governorship election till Thursday, September 9.
The event earlier slated for 12 noon Monday was shifted on the account of the absence of chairman of the campaign council, Victor Okezie Ikpeazu
The Abia State governor and other governors of the party were said to be attending a crucial national security meeting in Jos, Plateau State.
Party leaders, stakeholders and members were seated for almost two hours before the event was called to order at the instance of the acting National Chairman, Elder Yemi Akinwonmi, at 1.42pm.
The National Organizing Secretary, Col. Austin Akobundu (rtd) who addressed the gathering after the opening prayer said broke the news of the imminent postponement.
According to Akobundu, the governors sent words through the Director General of the PDP Governors Forum, Hon. Cyril Maduabum that the event be shifted till Thursday when National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting will be taking place.
Before the event was finally called off, notable dignitaries already seated include; the PDP Anambra governorship candidate, Valentine Ozigbo, the Director of his campaign council in Anambra State , Sen. Uche Ekwunife, former Anambra gov, Peter Obi, Sen Ben Obi, Senate Minority Leader, Enyinnaya Abaribe, National Vice Chairman South South, Alli Odefa, his counterpart in the South West, Amb Taofeek Arapaja , Amb Aminu Wali, National Secretary, Sen. Umaru Tsauri, National Publicity Secretaty, Kola Ologbondiyan and National Youth Leader, Sunday Ude Okoye, among others.
