Osun Gov: Doguwa apologizes to Osun APC, reaffirms commitment to the PDP

Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Petroleum Resources, Upstream, Rep Alhassan Ado Doguwa, has tendered an unreserved apology to the Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, over recent statements attributed to him.
He also reaffirmed his position as a staunch promoter of the party, expressing his unwavering loyalty.
The Osun APC, through its spokesperson, Kola Olabisi, had alleged that Doguwa’s remarks during this year’s Ede Day celebrations were misconstrued to discredit the party.
While representing Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rep Tajudeen Abbas, at the event held in Ede last Saturday, Doguwa’s comments were allegedly misrepresented to paint the APC in a negative light.

Responding swiftly in a statement he signed and made available to House Correspondents on Wednesday, Doguwa, who represents Doguwa/Tudun Wada Federal Constituency of Kano State, clarified that his remarks were taken out of context by the Osun State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
He maintained that he has always been a committed advocate for the APC, a party he helped, to establish.
“I was quoted out of context. The PDP media team in Osun deliberately twisted my light-hearted remarks to attack our party. It’s unfortunate that my innocent comments were exploited for cheap political points,” he said.
Apologising to the Osun APC, Doguwa stated that; “I wish to tender my sincere and heartfelt apologies to the APC family in Osun State. Please accept my unreserved apology. By God’s grace, the PDP’s time in Osun is coming to an end. In 2026, our party will reclaim the State.”
The Sardaunan Rano and Chairman, Northern Regional Caucus, 10th House of Representatives reiterated his loyalty to the APC, saying: “I remain a loyal and proud member of the APC, the largest political party in Africa. As a founding member, I see myself as a chief promoter of our party, not just in Kano State, but across Nigeria.
“I urge my APC compatriots in Osun to accept my apologies for any misunderstanding that may have arisen from my comments. I never intended to undermine or embarrass our great party for any reason,” he stated.
