Ondo guber: Jegede our authentic candidate – PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), yesterday, affirmed the candidature of Barrister Eyitayo Jegede as the authentic candidate of the party in the forthcoming November 26, governorship election in Ondo State.

The national publicity secretary of the party, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, stated this during the official presentation of the flag of the party to the governorship candidate in Akure, the state capital.

Adeyeye, who is the publicity secretary of Ahmed Makarffi led caretaker committee of the party, said Jegede’s name had already been submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the authentic candidate of the party as stipulated by the Electoral Act.

According to him, anybody parading himself as the candidate of the party is fake and empty as far as the party is concerned.

He said, “Eyitayo Jegede is the authentic candidate of PDP in the forthcoming governorship election in Ondo State. Anybody parading himself as the candidate of the party is fake and empty. Jegede’s primary election was done in Akure, supervised by the INEC, security agencies and conducted under the chairmanship of the governor of Bayelsa State, Dr. Seriake Dickson.

“The people of Ondo State must come out enmass and work very hard to vote for the candidate of our party.”
