The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State is to discipline a ward chairman who allegedly assaulted the state Commissioner for Women Affairs, Bunmi Orisadahunsi, in a viral video on Sunday.
The state secretariat of the party has, therefore, asked ward leaders to immediately suspend the ward chairman, assuring that further disciplinary actions would follow later.
In a statement signed by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Alex Kalejaye, and made available to journalists on Monday, the party condemned “the crude behaviour and unbelievable level of indiscipline exhibited by one of its officers, Mr. Olumide Awolumate.”
According to the statement, the party, in an emergency meeting presided over by the state chairman, Ade Adetimehin, at the state secretariat in Akure on Monday, expressed disappointment by the conducts of the ward chairman.
“We are still wondering what could have pushed him into exhibiting that degree of primitive affront on a highly-placed party chieftain and serving commissioner,” the party said.

The Ondo APC warned members of its executive to always embrace civility and self-discipline at all times, saying “it is expedient to accord respect to party elders and constituted authorities.”
The statement further cautioned that it would not condone or encourage any form of unruly behaviors or embarrassing conducts from its officers and members.
