Ogun community gets int’l market

A community in Ogun State, Warewa in Ifo Local Government Area, has got a relief of international market, after a family donated 20 acres of land located at Kilometer 30, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The Baale of Warewa, Chief Aina Ogundele, said that the land had been donated by the Osholarogun family since 2010 for the purpose of building Warewa International Market, which should, in turn, bring economic development to the community.

According to him, residents in the community had been selling along road-side and government officials usually demolished their sheds, because of closeness to the express thus leading to bankruptcy for them.

“Looking at the agony our people have been passing through over the years for inability to find a suitable market place to sell their wares, the Osholarogun family decided to come to their aids by donating the land”, he said.

He, however, called on the Ifo local government to bring the Area Office to the market in order to speed up development in Warewa, while also calling on the state government to establish magistrate and customary courts in the area.
