Ogun agog for Gov. Amosun Macho Man tourney

Ogun State is agog with great expectations as top physically endowed athletes billed to take part in this weekend’s maiden Governor Ibikunle Amosun Macho Man/Strongest Man Championships have been promised juicy packages ranging from a N500, 000 prize money for the winner, to an all-expense paid trip to South Africa.

According to the chairman of the Ado-Odo Otta Local Government, Hon. Oladele Adeniji, sponsors of the event in conjunction with the Timba Gym and Fitness Club, the improved monetary incentives are meant to engage and empower the youths to fulfill their innate sporting potentials.

“We have decided to organise this championship to engage and empower our youths with interest in sports. We are confident that at the end of the day, the tournament will add value to the lives of our youths in the area,” he said.

Expected to add colour to the one-day event taking place at the Ado-Odo Otta Local Government Secretariat on Sunday July 16, 2017, will be performances from top comedians, musicians and dancers domiciled in Sango-Otta and its environs.

According to a release from the Local Government, there will also be consolation prizes for the top five runners-up, just as the gates will be thrown open for interested body-building fans.
