Nuhu Ribadu says nothing wrong in 2 Niger Republic Govs attending Buhari’s Kano rally

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council field operations Director, Alhaji Nuhu Ribadu has said that the two Nigerien Republic Governors who attended President Muhammadu Buhari’s Kano rally did nothing wrong. Alhaji Ribadu said the two Nigerien Republic Governors live in a free world, therefore enjoy the constitutional right of free movement, especially as Nigeria has protocol/agreement that allows entry to the country without visa for people from West Africa. The former Police Chief while responding to question by newsmen on the presence of two Governors from Niger Republic who attended the APC mega rally in Kano said: “It is a free world and it is the constitutional right of everyone to be where he wants to be. You have no right to curtail anybody from doing what he wants to do. People from West Africa are free to move into Nigeria. We have a protocol or agreement that they don’t need a visa to come into this country. “I know for sure that they don’t have the vote but as free West Africans who believe that someone has done extremely very well, and decided to identify themselves with what they believe in, I don’t think there is anything wrong;
I don’t think there is any crime committed. You cannot and you have no right as a Nigerian to stop them from exercising their fundamental right to identify with friends. “Their presence may or may not have any impact on the re-election but they are entitled to it. We have to guarantee their freedom because their presence is within the law and we don’t have right to stop them”. He called on all Nigerians to join hands to rescue the country from total collapse. The former Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) boss in a chat with journalists in Abuja on Friday also said as habitants in a free world, people can live anywhere carrying out their daily activities as required by law. He said: “We have to join hands together to rescue this nation; we don’t want things to go bad like they were before. We don’t want anyone to steal from our own common wealth again. We don’t want anyone to come and sell some things that belong to all of us to his own few friends. We want justice and fairness; we want to show that nobody is above the law in our own country. “You (the canvassers) are all believers. You people make this sacrifice as volunteers that have agreed to come collectively to improve ourselves and go to the field. We intend to go to every single door, every single house, every single Armlet to train others who are also going to carry out this responsibility. “I know that we are prepared and we have the best people that are going to do the work for us. We are not rich but we will deliver Muhammadu Buhari insha Allah”. In his contribution, the Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the Consumer Protection Council (CPC), Babatunde Iruka stated that poverty is a fruit pointing that; “We must agree that when you plant a seed and after a while, it would grow and then you reap the fruits. The fruits of pain and poverty that we are experiencing in the country today are the seed that was planted by the previous government. “You must show that you have a government that is planting seed of prosperity for our future. A building is good with a solid foundation. If you buy land and build a foundation, it is easier and you build quicker but the first thing that this government has to do is to deconstruct the broken system and then excavate the nonsense that was there. So, the government is doing deconstruction, excavation and construction in the last three years and so the case of continuity is made”. Also in attendance were former Governor of Osun state, Rauf Aregbesola, Deputy National Chairman (North), Senator Lawal Shuibu, APC Deputy Director General, Waziri Bulama, among others.
