NSCDC disowns ‘acclaimed’ retirees

The Nigeria security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has distanced self from a group known as South West Retirees of the NSCDC noting that its yet to form any association for its retirees.

According to a statement signed by Corps Public Relations Officer, Emmanuel Okeh, the Commandant General, Abduallahi Gana, strongly warned the general public to desist from having any dealing with this group of persons as their action is illegal as they do not have any affiliation with the Corps.

“It’s sad to note the malicious allegations raised by the affore-said, South West Retirees of the NSCDC.
“We disassociate ourselves from this organisation as ‘personae non-grata’, we have no dealing whatsoever with this innocuous organisation.
“NSCDC is a paramilitary agency of the Federal Government with rules and regulations governing its operations with proper channel of communications, hence the Corps can neither identify with any association or group of persons that are lawless and have no recourse to due process as purported by its leaders Morgan James and Mr. Olaleye Moshood.” Said Gana
While describing the group as illegal, he disclosed that Corps has have instructed the Legal Advisers concerning the group and its activities for appropriate measure to be taken on those parading themselves as retirees of the Corps.
However, the Commandant said the Corps is yet to form any association for its retirees bearing in mind that his administration drive its on staff welfare for both serving and retirees of the service.
