NPFL: Ganaru tips MFM to ruffle big guns

Kano Pillars head coach Mohammed Baba Ganaru believes that Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) new boys MFM FC are capable of upsetting the apple cart this season.
Ganaru watched from the sidelines as his side fought back from a goal down to earn a point against the plucky Lagos club.
A second-half spot kick converted by Rabiu Ali for Kano Pillars cancelled out Stanley Okorom’s brilliant first-half goal.
Commenting on MFM FC’s performance against his side on Wednesday, Ganaru said: “They can hurt anybody.”
“Honestly I didn’t expect this,” Ganaru said. “It shows they are a good team and they can hurt anybody. If they continue like this I see them finishing the season very well and among the top teams.”
Ganaru, who has guided Kano Pillars to the Nigerian title twice, said he is satisfied with the outcome ofWednesday night’s match at the Agege Stadium in Lagos.
The former Nasarawa United manager is also confident that he has the playing personnel that can win the title.
“I will take the one point (against MFM FC). They surprised me, and anyone who underrates them will suffer for it. For me, the title is the target this season because we have won it before and it won’t make any sense not to be ambitious,” he added.
The Kano club are in fifth place in the NPFL standings with 12 points, two less than leaders Enugu Rangers. They play hosts to FC Ifeanyiubah on Sunday.
