Following the Federal Government’s effort at developing small and medium scale enterprises, a legislator has thrown his weight behind it.

Mohammed Ogoshi Onawo, House of Representatives member from Awe/Doma/Keana Constituency, Nassarawa State, a lawmaker, has called on the country to enact a legislation that will enable Nigerian startups to enjoy a tax holiday and make them grow.

Onawo made this remark having been impressed with the products and solutions of the 10 Nigerian startups sponsored by the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) to compete at the GITEX Future Stars Movement for the $130,000 USD.

The chairman’s position was also upheld by the Director General of NITDA, Dr. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami and the Chairman, Senate committee on ICT, Senator Abdulfatai Buhari.

The top government officials arrived at this resolution, while interacting with the innovators at the ongoing Gulf Information Technology Exhibition week.
