National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, (APC) Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has stated that Nigeria needs replication and sustainability of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as Governor of Lagos State, to move the country forward.

The former Governor of Kano State made this assertions in Abuja, while playing host to the forum of former National Assembly Members, led by its Chairman, Ibrahim Zailani at the party National Secretariat, Buhari on Thursday on a congratulatory visit.

He said: “You saw how, our President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu when he was Governor of Lagos State, he used national diversity to move lagos forward and he is translating that to Nigeria at the moment.”

The National Chairman also noted that psychologically, the forum is alway nostalgic about the National Assembly and sociologically, “you are bounded by esprit de corps.

“You can see how important you are, in fact, National Assembly is only the first casualty to the military rule, therefore, since we are lucky for many decades now, we are experiencing democracy.

“It is your responsibility to consolidate National Assembly, whether you are inside or outside, the psychological thing that bind you together should continue, that is why we are so happy with legislative project in their constituency projects.

“Though, some are saying, why constituency project, your main function is to make laws and oversight functions, but an ordinary voter would like to see something on ground.

“He doesn’t think how legislation is affecting his life, he doesn’t see how oversight function is affecting him, but can easily see a constituency project whether it’s borehole, building schools, clinic and many others.

“So, we think it is very important, weather you’re from the third, fourth and fifth legislation, when you see your constituency project that you erected, you feel happy and satisfied,” he said.

Ganduje however, commended their efforts on the visitation promising to involve them when the need arises.

“We should be able to, and will be involving you in one activity or another. You have the institutional memory when talking of anything dealing with political parties, conflict resolution, party registration and dealing with election campaign, you have institutional memory so, you are more qualified than any other person,” he added.

Ganduje assured that the National Working Committee, (NWC) of the party, led by him view the forum, an important institution of national diversity and to manage national diversity is one of the cardinal principles of this administration.

In his earlier presentation, leader of the team, former House member, Zailani said their visit was to basically and fundamentally, congratulate the national chairman, Ganduje.

“We have been following you, we know your antecedents, we know what you have done in Kano state and we are very positive that you ‘ll translate the same thing here, as the national chairman of our party.

“As you can see, we are representing the country because all the six geo-political zones are adequately represented here.

“We may not be in the House of representatives now, but we want to tell you that all of us have the energy, vision and interest of the party at heart, so we are offering ourselves for any party assignments,” he said.
