Niger Gov directs contractor to expedite work on Minna-Suleja road

Niger state governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello, has directed the contractor handling the rehabilitation work on Trunk A Minna-Suleja road to expedite action before full rain sets in.
Conducting an unscheduled inspection of work on the road on Thursday at Gangare village in Paikoro local government area of the state, the governor expressed satisfaction over the quality of work being done on the 98 kilometre road.
The rehabilitation work on the federal road is currently being carried out by the Niger state government to alleviate the sufferings of motorists on the road after the initial dualization work of the road was abandoned, a development that further worsened it.
The governor who stopped at Gangare village, expressed satisfaction at the quality of work done by the contractor but expressed concern at the slow pace of work. He therefore directed the contractor to expedite action.
“So far, I am satisfied with the quality of your work. You only have to increase the pace at which you are working. You are doing a good work, my concern is only the slow pace of work. You need to expedite action and deliver on time.
“The rains will soon be here fully and you have to get done with the work before the rains. So that the purpose for our intervention is not lost,” the governor stated.
The representative of the contactor handling the project Engineer Basam Awal assured the governor that efforts are on to meet the deadline.
