Nasarawa SWAN elects new exco

Nasarawa State chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria(SWAN), has elected new executives to pilot its affairs for the next three years.

The newly elected executives included: New Telegraph Correspondent, Mr, Cheke Emmanuel (Chairman), Isa Muhammed of Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) (Vice Chairman), John Dan-Alhassan of Nasarawa Broadcasting Service (Secretary), Ibrahim Danjuma of Radio Nigeria, Precious FM, Lafia (Treasurer) and Umar Muhammed of The Punch Newspaper was elected as Financial Secretary respectively.

The election which took place at the NUJ Press Center in Lafia, saw all the executives returned unopposed under the supervision of the Vice President of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, (SWAN) North Central, Malam Danmusa Mohammed, had in attendance NUJ Chairman, Dan Yakubu, was peaceful. Speaking at the event, Vice President of SWAN North Central, Danmusa Mohammed tasked newly elected executives to key into the

programmmes of the national body of SWAN by ensuring implementation of its policies in the state. Mohammed who promised to attract activities to the zone, warned against negative tendency that would jeopardise the progress of the association both at national and state level, pledging to support the newly elected executives to succeed.

In his post election speech, the newly elected SWAN chairman in the state, Cheke Emmanuel, thanked members for the confidence reposed on him to serve, also promised to carry members along.
