Monarch seeks support for Buhari’s second term

A first class traditional ruler in Osun State, Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi has called on Nigerians to give President Muhammadu Buhari another term to continue the anti -corruption war.

Speaking with journalists in Ibadan during the commemoration of the United Nations International Day of Democracy , the royal father said that President Buhari has been doing a good job concerning the anti corruption war saying there is the need for sustenance of the war.

He said Buhari is one leader that has the capacity to fight corruption and as that he should be given one more term to complete the good work he has started.

He urged the electorate to only vote for candidates that are ready to fight corruption at all levels in the 2019 general election.

Also speaking at the occasion, the Chairman, Osun State House of Assembly Committee on Information and Strategy, Hon. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye said all Nigerians must give support to leaders in the country and ensure the sustenance of the nation’s democracy.

Oyintiloye who was bestowed with the United Nations 2017 Distinguished Award at the occasion said democracy has come to stay in Nigeria.

“Nigeria democracy is still young, but it is progressing and not static. We need to give it more time to mature and we should not be comparing our democracy with that of the advanced countries.

There has been a lot of improvement,” he said. He said the major thing that can boost Nigeria’s democracy is to ensure that corruption is tackled and reduced to the barest minimum.

He commended the people of his constituency for their support and understanding saying this has led him to achieving a lot which in turn made him to receive several awards of distinctions.
