Meet Thembi Shilenge, A Crypto Queen

Those familiar with her history are not surprised that Thembi Portia Shilenge is hugely successful. A few years ago, she was an engineer. But today at 27, she has transformed into a crypto queen.

Thembi Shilenge, born in Mmakaunyane in the North West Province of South Africa, had her primary and high school education, graduating in 2010 from Mabopane Secondary School.

She went to Tshwane University of Technology in 2012 and earned her national diploma in Chemical Engineering in 2014. Thereafter, she attended Sage Pastel Accounting Academy in 2015.

She utilised her chemical engineering background to work variously as a graduate intern at Amalunga Minerals, plant operator at ChromTech Holdings, and water process controller at the Department of Public Works.
Her other works include as a junior metallurgical trainee at Kroondal Platinum Mine in Rustenburg, a Chemical separator in the City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality, Gauteng, and a chemical process learner at SABMiller Plc.

In 2017, Thembi Shilenge switched careers when she became a Sales Representative at Metropolitan, an insurance company in Pretoria. In quick succession, she worked with Atlantic Global Asset Management LP (a Euro Asset Management company selling investment), BitClub Network (a Randburg-based crypto-trading company) and Questra World (an asset management investment company in Madrid, Spain).

Aside from working briefly as a marketing executive for Futurenet Publishing, based in Poland, Thembi Shilenge focused on working within the cryptocurrency sector.

In 2018, from March to December, she worked with a German company, NEXUS Global Limited, and also with UK-based Learning Enterprises Organisation Ltd as Marketing Director.

For the past five years, since 2016, Thembi Shilenge has been working as a crypto trader with London-based Binance. In 2019, she became president of Novus, an automated forex trading and cryptocurrency trading investment platform.
