LP Youth Mobilizer, Family Members Go Into Hiding After Abduction By Bandits

The Youth mobilizer of the Labour Party in Kubwa, a suburban community close to Abuja has reportedly gone into hiding and seeking refuge in an undisclosed location after he and family recently regained freedom from captivity in December 2023.

Recall that Davidson Ohurogu and his wife Vivian Ukachukwu Ohurogu with their 4 children were reportedly kidnapped in November 2023 on their way home from church service by Islamic bandits.

A close family source who spoke on condition of anonymity disclosed that Davidson Ohurogu and his family were exposed to several threats after the major defeat of the LP in 2023 general election, however culminating into their recent abductions.

Davidson Ohurogu and his family had not been heard of after their abduction by the bandits as no line of communication was established between the bandits and his immediate family members for payment of ransom to secure their immediate release several days after abduction, it was confirmed.

According to a source in the church(names withheld), details of their abduction were still sketchy after news of their abduction broke several hours after the close of church activities as it was said that vigilant neighbours however reported their sudden disappearance at the police station.

In recent times, incidents of kidnappings on the Suleja/Abuja road by bandits and Boko-Haram insurgents have continued to be on the increase as families and commuters are kidnapped daily for ransom owing to the total inefficient security network bedeviling the nation.

Meanwhile, following efforts by concerned individuals within his family and community Davidson Ohurogu and his family reportedly regained freedom.

However, efforts by our correspondent to reach him and family members to obtain first-hand information about their harrowing experience while in captivity proved abortive as the family was said to have relocated to an undisclosed location following a recent attack by suspected political thugs who stormed his home and vandalized his apartment with the intent to attack and maim him and members of his family.

Meanwhile, members of the general public with any useful information that could lead to the arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators of the heinous act have been advised to report at any nearby station for a handsome reward

Confirmed report in his(Davidson) community however revealed that his neighbourhood had recently been under the siege of suspected criminals who had on several occasions vandalized his apartment while the family had been unavoidably absent from home.
