Key into agro-economic policies of FG, ABSG, monarch tells subjects

The traditional ruler of Umuchieze autonomous community in Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia State, HRM Eze (Barr.) Moses Okwale, has called on his subjects to key into agro-economic policies of the Federal and Abia State governments to defeat economic recession.

Eze Okwale, who was interacting with journalists in his palace in Umuchieze recently, however lamented that effects of economic recession were enormous on the youths of his community, especially the graduates but thanked God that they did not resort to deviant activities, adding that they remained law-abiding in the face of economic vicissitude.

He called on the Federal and State governments to fix his community’s social infrastructure like schools, electricity and roads.

He said: “The Lokpanta -Ihube axis of Federal high way is in terrible condition. Our school, Lokpaukwu community school, needs urgent government attention and artisans in my community need electricity to improve on their works which when done, would multiply their earnings and this would contribute immensely to Abia State economy in job creation and result to influx of investors”.

The Chieze III of Umuchieze commended a quarry company, Asphalt Unity Company, situated in the community for keeping to agreements it reached with the host community on development and promised that the agreement would be renewed if the company maintained their giant strides.

Eze Okwale, who described his relationship with his subjects as cordial, urged the youths of his community to remain good citizens of Umunneochi and Abia State, pointing out that peace and unity were the most important pillars of development.

He seized the opportunity to urge traditional rulers and those in the position of trust to lead with the fear of God and to formulate good policies.

Eze Okwale also commended Governor Okezie Ikpeazu and the Chairman of Umunneochi Local Government, Barr Okey Igwe, for sensitising the people on the augmentative advantage of agriculture to their lives.
