Kano Pillars Star Undergoes Surgery, Bullet Removed From His Shoulder

Kano Pillars FC striker, Gambo Mohammed has undergone surgery and is recuperating at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital in Kano.

Gambo who was the only one of the five injured Kano Pillar players that suffered a gunshot wounds had his surgery and is responding well to treatment according to the club’s media officer.

It would be recalled that armed robbers had attacked the Kano Pillars contingent along Abuja-Lokoja Road as they were traveling to Owerri for their Day one, Week one game against Heartland FC, during which five of Kano Pillars players including Gambo were injured during the attack.

Idris Malikawa, the club’s media officer, has revealed that Otekpa and Murtala Adamu have been discharged from hospital while Gambo is still left behind.

“Two players have been discharged from hospital, they are Eneji Otekpa and Murtala Adamu. Only Gambo Mohammed remains in the hospital now, but he is getting better,” said Malikawa .

The hospital had discharged Reuben Ogbonnaya and Ubong Ekpai earlier.

Pillars will now kick off their first game for the new season on Saturday when they will host Bayelsa United in the league, while their CAF Champions League clash against Moghreb Tetouan of Morocco has been moved to next weekend
