Institute recognises journalist, regrets lack of training in Christendom
Gracious Freedom Theological Institute, Umuahia yesterday, honoured a veteran journalist and staff of Lumen newspaper, Umuahia, Sir Emmanuel Nnamdi Ejiogu, KSM with the prestigious Doctor of Divinity award.
This was even as the President of the Institute, Prof. Ohaegbulam John Kalu has identified lack of proper ecclesiastical training as the problem facing the world today.
Sir Ejiogu, the Institute said was honoured because of his contributions to journalism profession and his philanthropy to humanity.
Also speaking during the occasion which was the institute’s 3rd Convocation/Matriculation, ordination and award ceremony, the newly Prelate and Chairman, Bishopric Ministerial Board of the Institute, His Grace Moat Rev Dr. Okwudiri Alex Onwuzuruigbo said the occasion was “to bring and equip last days charismatic generation preachers who will preach the undiluted message from God to depopulate the kingdom of Satan”.
He charged the newly ordained to make the word of God their delight, to be careful to deliver the word of God faithfully to others, be truthful, love everybody, live life of emulation and to diligently seek the divine understanding of the word of God.
Speaking with newsmen later, Sir Ejiogu expressed his delight over the award, stating that it is inspirational, adding that he will do his best to justify it.
In their separate interviews with newsmen afterwards, some graduants, including the wife of the Prelate, Rev. Dr Oluchi Onwuzuruigbo, Chinyere Onyemachi, and Deaconess Dorathy Favour Chinda appreciated god for having gone through the tutelage in His cause, adding that the programme has positioned them to be versed and diligent in the word of God.
