How I made FIA for Davido – Fresh VDM, the Togolese-Nigerian producer

Kicking off the year with the production of Prayer – a DMW single featuring Davido and Mayorkun and scoring an underground hit with Yonda’s Las Vegas, nothing could have prepared Fresh VDM for the massive reception of his latest production, FIA by Davido to round up a momentous 2017.

The Togolese-Nigerian producer spoke to Pulse Nigeria recently where he talked about his early life in Togo, creating FIA and more on his production journey thus far.
In the interview, he explained how he was inspired by the tragedy that befell the DMW family to produce FIA.

‘The entire situation surrounding Davido truly inspired this as I just wanted to make something he could be able to express himself on,’ Fresh says. “The record took me 24 hours literally. I couldn’t sleep. It was a tough time for the DMW family but I guess God used me as a tool to ease the entire situation.

Fresh VDM, whose real name is Bello Emmanuel Adeshina also revealed his response to the rapid reception of the song which debuted on the ITunes US pop charts at no. 38 and has amassed over 4 million views.
“It sure feels good to wake up and find out the number one song in the country is produced by you.” He told Pulse Nigeria
