I invested time, money to become a jeweller, says Quila Jewelers’ boss

Nigerian born founder and CEO of Quila Jewelers, an American supplier of high-end jewellery, Michael Olorunsogo Oni has recently disclosed his motivation for founding the luxury jewellery business.

Speaking during a media interview, Michael Olorunsogo Oni said: “Quila Jewelers started three years ago before it became established as a business.

Originally, I have a degree in Political Science and I am also a certified Project Manager, but I have always loved and admired precious stones and custom-made jewellery. I invested time in studying gemology and even took a GIA course.

Afterwards, a good friend in the jewellery business encouraged me to set up a store of my own which I called Quila Jewelers today. That was in 2017.

When asked how he derived the brand name for his business and also the meaning behind the coinage, the Quila Jewelers CEO replied: “The name Quila is coined out of “Aquila” which is my unborn son’s name.”

Michael Olorunsogo Oni, a native of Erin Oke, Osun State, but born and raised in Lagos, before he relocated to the United States, further explained the scope of business under the Quila Jewelers company.

“Quila Jewelers company offers the best deals on high-end jewellery, watches and custom made pieces. We also offer free and express delivery on all purchases within the United States. Just as well, we also render services to clients outside the United States with international delivery services,” he stated.

On whether he has the expertise and creativity to be a top jeweller, given his background as a political scientist, Michael Olorunsogo Oni submitted: “The art of making beautiful and eye-catching jewellery takes time and patience, I’ve learnt over the years from experts and professionals in the jewellery business and got professional training in Jewelry Design and Technology from GIA New York.”
