Group tasks Obaseki on development

Members of the Emai Development Union (EMU), a body that marshals the interest of the people of Emai clan in Owan East Local Government Area of Edo State, have appealed to the state governor, Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki, to remember his campaign promises to bring development to the locality.
In a letter addressed to the governor and signed by Chief Godfrey Ehimika, chairman and Evangelist Francis Esezoobo, secretary of the association, EDU recalled that during his campaign visit to the community Governor Obaseki promised to give Afuze, the administrative headquarters of the local government, a facelift.
EDU stressed that in line with Governor Obaseki’s plan to develop Gelegele Seaport to an export processing zone Afuze should be well positioned also.
Going further, EDU stated: “While appreciating your commitment to give every segment of society a sense of belonging, the elders and good people of Owan sons and daughters who are intellectually balanced for appointment into political positions as the massive votes which came from Owan East contributed to your resounding victory during the elections.
“We use this opportunity to pledge our unalloyed loyalty and unflinching support to your administration and to draw your attention further to the death trapped Afuze-Erah road which is making it difficult to transport farm produce to the market.”
