Resourceful stand-up comedians, Olufemi Fagade popularly known as Omo Baba and Kenny Blaq were among the top artistes who performed at the Ibadan edition of Nigeria’s most popular comedy show, Glo Laffta Fest sponsored by telecommunications giant, Globacom.
Similarly, top Yoruba Nollywood stars, Odunlade Adekola and Bolaji Amusan, popularly known as Mr. Latin also graced the show which was held at the Professor Oritsejolomi Thomas Hall of the Conference Centre of the prestigious University of Ibadan.
A reputed Globacom ambassador, Odunlade was one of the three guest celebrities who resonated well with the crowd as his appearance on stage elicited a wild ovation which was equally extended to Mr. Latin.
Nollywood watchers’ delight, Patience Ozokwor, popularly known as Mama G also excited the Ibadan audience who filled the massive hall and spilled into the gallery upstairs. Describing the occasion as momentous, Mama G gave kudos to Globacom as one company that has consistently supported entertainment.
The ageless screen diva who spotted a green silky gown with sprightly embroidery noted that this was why the company was taking the show across Nigeria.
Soon after up-and-coming acts, including Emmanuel Debegene Emmaralo, enthralled the audience, the show was formally opened by accomplished comedian, Omo Baba who was invited to the stage by the excited duo of Mercy Johnson-Okojie and Juliet Ibrahim.
Omo Baba, who was making his debut in the current season of the comedy show, excited the audience by taking them down memory lane discussing with a vivid simulation, the various dance styles that had reigned in the last two decades including Yahooze, Alanta, Galala and the like.
