Give APC 4 more years to consolidate its economic agenda – Gov Abubakar

Samuel Luka, Bauchi

As the 2019 general elections draws nearer, electorates in Bauchi state have been urged to give the All Progressive Congress ( APC) another four years and to also elect credible leaders who will help President Muhammadu Buhari to complete the Economic and Restoration Agenda set by the party in 2015. Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar who made the appeal to the people of Bauchi state said, “ensure that those elected to the national assembly and all other levels in the forthcoming general elections are people that will help President Muhammadu Buhari to complete the economic and restoration agenda initiated by the APC in 2015”. The Governor who stated this on Wednesday at a campaign rally in Dambam local government area of the state lamented that having the wrong people controlling the leadership of the national assembly had slowed down most of the items on the economic and change agenda, as well as policies and programmes of the APC. He said in a Press statement by his Press Secretary, Abubakar Al-Sadique on Thursday that, “we thank the almighty Allah that those bad eggs in our Party have eased themselves out because they have realized that it will never be business as usual in the APC. This gives us the opportunity to present the right calibre of representatives that will help President Muhammadu Buhari in executing such policies and programmes that the majority of Nigerians have been yearning for since the return of democratic rule”. Governor Abubakar explained that his administration has been able to achieve a great feat in the area of infrastructural development, improvement in security as well as in education, health and other critical sectors in the past four years mainly because of the lifeline the President gave state governors and blockade of loopholes introduced in the state. The Governor who commissioned primary health centres in Dambam and Madachi in Katagum local government area also received hundreds of defectors from the People’s Democratic Party, including the Dambam local government chairman and all members of his executives. He therefore urged the people to come out in their numbers and vote for the candidates of the APC at all levels, assuring that the party will continue with its change and anti-corruption agenda that have turned around the fortunes of its citizenry if given additional four years to superintend over it.
