Girl-child education stressed as school marks 65th Founder’s Day

The importance of educating the girl-child has once again been stressed as one of the ways to move the country forward.

Management of Reagan Memorial Baptist Girls Secondary School, Lagos, one of the leading schools for girls in Nigeria and owned by the Nigerian Baptist Convention, has stressed that the role of women in nation building cannot be over-emphasized.

As the school prepares to celebrate its 65th Founder’s Day anniversary, president of Reagan Old Girls Association (ROGA), Mrs. Oyinkansola Cole, said the school has a rich heritage of sharing, bounding and celebrating in love adding that this emanates from its motto which is ‘Love One Another.’

Noting that the theme for this year’s commemoration is ‘Love Will Keep Us Together,’ she said that the association has assiduously taken over some projects within the school to make significant difference to future generations of the Reagan girls.

The week long event, which kicked started with a health talk on Monday, and career talk, prize giving and a novelty football match in subsequent days, would be rounding off this Sunday May 28, 2017 with the grand finale that would feature a thanksgiving service at Yaba Baptist Church.
