Food Sufficiency: Niger Govt to establish 30,000-hectare farm in Ishau District

Niger Foods has signed a lease agreement to develop a 30,000-hectare farm estate in Ishau District in Niger State.

The agreement was signed at the Emir Palace in the presence of the Emir of Minna, Alhaji (Dr) Umar Faruq Bahago, according to a statement, made available to the Daily Times, at the weekend, by the State Governor, Umaru Bago.

The initiative is in line with Governor Bago’s commitment to establish farm estates across 25 Local Government Areas of Niger State.

The Chairman of Niger Foods signed on behalf of the company, while the District Head of Ishau, James Kwasau, represented Ishau District.

The Emir of Minna commended the agricultural revolution agenda of the Farmer, Governor Bago, and pledged support for Niger Foods’ vision.

The Chairman, Niger Foods lauded the decision as a major milestone, announcing additional upcoming projects in Minna Emirate.
