Fintiri’s CPS commends journalists for promoting transparency, accountability

The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Adamawa State, Mr. Humwashi Wonosikou, has praised journalists in the state for their tireless efforts in their reportage and holding those in power accountable.
At a breakfast meeting with journalists at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Yola, Wonosikou expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the journalists for their cooperation and support throughout the previous year.
He acknowledged the importance of fact-based reporting and journalistic integrity in a world where misinformation and disinformation can spread quickly.
Wonosikou highlighted the significant role journalists have played in amplifying the voices of citizens, sharing their stories, struggles, and triumphs with a wider audience.
He noted that their reporting has helped to promote greater understanding, empathy, and engagement among citizens, and has been instrumental in highlighting issues that matter most to the community, such as education, healthcare, economic development, and social justice.
The Press Secretary also appreciated the journalists’ questions, insights, and feedback, which have been invaluable in helping the government communicate its policies and initiatives more effectively.

This gesture of appreciation comes as the Adamawa State Government has been making efforts to enhance service delivery, including a recent cabinet reshuffle aimed at maximizing the strengths of the Governor’s team.
The government has also been working to address concerns of civil servants regarding salary deductions and has issued clarifications on the matter. Additionally, the Governor has signed several bills into law, marking significant progress in the state’s development.
