FG cautions on proliferation of private schools

The Federal Government has been urged to regulate and monitor the establishment of private schools in the country in order to ensure qualitative education.

A retired Deputy Director from the Kwara State Ministry of Information and Communication, Alhaji Dahud Nurudeen, gave this advice on Saturday in llorin at the fourth graduation ceremony of Tesyaq Nursery and Primary School Osere area, llorin, the Kwara capital.

Nurudeen, who was the chairman and special Guest of honour at the event, noted that several private schools lack basic necessities to function effectively to produce useful and responsible citizens.

He said several schools especially the Nursery and primary schools are operating under unhygienic conditions which he said constitute health hazard.
He noted that many private schools in Kwara State are currently operating in uncompleted buildings thereby endangering the lives of pupils.

The retired Deputy Director called for reinvigoration of the inspectorate divisions in the Federal and states Ministries of Education to allow the nation’s education sector remain credible.

He advised parents to invest in the Education of their children so that they can contribute to nation’s growth and development
