Father arrested for defiling three daughters in Lagos

The long arms of the law have caught up with one Olusegun Adefemi a father of three daughters, for allegedly defiling them and inflicting body injuries on them.
Adefemi who is a Bricklayer/Conductor and lives at No. 6 Ipakan Street Ijede Lagos was arrested after a concerned neighbour, Adekoya Sesan who is a neighbourhood Safety Corps official had noticed the bad trend and led the officials to his arrest.
According to the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Police Command, Imohimi Edgal, Adefemi had separated from his wife for about a year over issues relating to spousal abuse.
Investigations also revealed that the suspect was in the habit of beating his daughters – Favour Adefemi, Godspower Adefemi and Wisdom Adefemi – aged 7, 5, and 3 respectively whenever they refused him sex.
Edgal who paraded the suspect at the State Police Command Headquarters in Ikeja said the suspect met his waterloo when he had tempered with the 3 year old.
The Commissioner of Police said, “the suspect had inflicted grievous injury in the private part of the child as a result of forceful Penetration. Two older siblings of the survivor were not luckier as Adefemi regularly abuse by beating them with cane each time they resist him from penetrating them through their anus.
” the said Favour Adefemi has been taken to Mirabel Medical Centre for examination and treatment while her other siblings by names Godspower Adefemi and Wisdom Adefemi has been placed in temporary home.”
The suspect who also spoke with Journalist denied the allegation saying he is been falsely accused and had done no such thing.
Adefemi said it is unimaginable. ” On the said day, I had woken up to see a large number of neighbourhood Safety Corp officials who had come to arrest me.
“I inquired to know what I had done and they said I was abusing my children physically and sexual. I told them that wasn’t true but they insisted and took me to the police station and now the Police Headquarters. ”
On why he beats his children, he said. ” As a father, it is expected that I discipline my children when they go wrong. Three days before my arrest I had beaten my 3 year old daughter for misbehaving and people confuse it for something else.”
When asked who would have inflicted or abused his daughter sexually, Adefemi said. ” I am not always around as I travel to different parts of the state for work. As a father i do all within my power to provide for them. So I sometimes travel for three or two days and it may have been during those periods that someone may have taken advantage of them.”
Edgal stated that the suspect would be charged to court at the conclusion of investigation.
