Families of four extra-judicially killed for their crimes by DPO beseech Police commissioner for justice

Families of village head and three other youths allegedly killed by a Divisional Police Office in Shelleng local government area of Adamawa state, have called for the prosecution of the DPO by police authorities in the state.
The families of the deceased village head of Hampeto, Mr. Jauro Musa Hampeto, and three other youths Buba Grema, Yesufu and Musa Bakari, allegedly killed by the DPO, are accusing the police authorities of not hearkening to their cry for justice.
ASP M.H Dass is being accused by relatives of the deceased of ordering the killing of the four who were allegedly killed by the police without trial over their suspected role in the death of local politician.
Their families said the four, including Jauro Hampeto, mysteriously disappeared while under police detention at the Kiri Divisional Police headquarters on October 30, 2016.
The principal eye witness, who also had gunshot wounds from unknown assailants, had informed family members of the deceased of the whereabouts of their corpse.
He said he learnt of plans by the police DPO in charge of the Kiri Divisional Police headquarters, ASP M.H Dass, ordering the summary execution of the deceased and quickly alerted their families.
According to him, the DPO had directed his men to dispose of their corpse in river Kiri, after their execution in order to cover up the crime.
The corpses of two of the deceased, that of Musa Hampeto and Buba Grema, while the whereabouts of the bodies of Yesufu and Musa Bakari still remain unknown.

Mallam Grema, who spoke to our correspondent accused the police of trying to shield the DPO from prosecution, saying he held the ASP Dass responsible for the death of his son.
Mallam Glory Hampeto father of the slain Jauro Hampeto said DPO had asked them to bring N600,000 in order to effect the release of his Musa Hampeto who said was arrested by the head of the vigilante in the area, who handed him over to the police as one those suspected to have a hand in the death of administrator of Kiri Development area.
He said surprisingly, after they failed to bring the said sum the DPO informed him that some unknown men had come and effected the release of Musa.

But unknown to us, the senior Hampeto said the DPO had already ordered their execution and instructed that their corpses be deposited in River Kiri.
However, the Adamawa state police command, through its public relations officer said it was carefully investigating the allegations against the DPO, whom it added ahas has also been transferred out of Kiri.
