Enugu community banishes serial homosexual, clubs partner to death

Joseph Dike, Enugu

The people of Obeagu community, in Nkanu, Enugu State have banished one Mbah Chigozie over his homosexual activities.

Chigozie, a self-confessed gay activist, was caught red-handed engaging in homosexuality considered a taboo, not just in his community but under the Nigeria legal system.

A competent source revealed that prior to his being caught red-handed, he had been on the radar following his suspicious activities which linked him to homosexual lifestyle.

Mbah Chigozie

According to the youth leader of the community, Mr Dan Nnaji, who spoke to journalists, Chigozie was caught in the act by a neighbour who has been mounting surveillance on him.
“We have always suspected them of being homosexuals.

This is because of the kind of lifestyle they live. Two of them are always together and most times they will go into the house, even at noon and bolt the door.

“So, the community vigilante group has been monitoring their movement. On that ill-fated day, they came in as usual, but unknown to them, the villagers were monitoring their movement.

“As soon as they bolted the door, a neighbour moved closer and started hearing a romantic noise from the room. At that point, we pushed through the window and saw them stark naked, with one on top of the other,” the source disclosed.

He added that the gay partners were immediately ordered to come out, stressing that “as Chigozie ran away, his partner, Ifeanyi Okafor was not unlucky.

“The villagers grabbed him and clubbed him to death.”

Nnaji added that Chigozie having desecrated the land should no longer be seen anywhere around the community.

“You know so much that what he committed is an atrocity; how can a man be making love with a fellow man.

“He knows the consequence of his actions, yet he has been promoting homosexuality in our community in the name of human rights.

“We have banished him for life; anyone that sees him anywhere around the community is free to do anything to him,” the youth leader added.

Similarly, Chigozie’s elder brother, Mr Mbah Friday also told our correspondent that
he has disowned his brother.

“Since he decided to drag our family name to the mud, I will no longer have anything to do with him again. He should never return to our house again,” he warned.

Meanwhile, a senior police officer in the Enugu State Police Command, confirmed that a case had been filed against the suspect, Mbah Chigozie.

“He is on the run, but we shall get him to face the full wrath of the law over his homosexual activity,” the senior officer said.
