Ekiti APC Urges Governors to Domesticate Whistle-Blower Policy

All Progressive Congress (APC) Governorship Aspirant in Ekiti State, Engr. Kayode Ojo has expressed confidence that whistle-blower policy of President Muhammadu Buhari will uproot the cankerworm of corruption and the Pilfering of Public funds in Nigeria.
Ojo said with the quantum of money that had been recovered by EFCC that the country has a lot benefits to derive from the policy.
The APC stalwart also called on the National Judicial Council (NJC) to wade into cases of alleged judicial compromise in the prolonged incarceration of some APC Chieftains in Ado Ekiti prison on the order of Governor Ayo Fayose.
Ojo made the statements in Ado Ekiti on Monday during a visit to the APC chieftains at the Prison to donate food items and cash for their welfare inside prison custody.
The beneficiaries are: The Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) leader in Ekiti Prince Niyi Adedipe (Apase), Rotimi Olabiwonnu (Mentilo), Sola Adenijo (Solar), Bayo Aderiye(Ojuigo), Ajayi Kayode, Sola Durodola, and OSI Farotimi.
The Governorship aspirant, who later met with the wives of the incaccerated Chieftains of the APC, promised to pay the school fees of the children of the victims so that many of them who have stopped schooling for lack of funds can return.
The APC chieftain said Nigerians could now have an insight into how endemic corruption had been in The country with revelation of how many where stocked in illicit areas by some politicians.
He said :”EFCC has discovered over N100 Billion illegal funds within the last few months the policy came into effects. The N3 Billion that was traced to former NNPC GMD, Ibrahim Yakubu, and multi billion naira discovered in Ikoyi , Lagos State and many other illicit locations had confirmed that the policy must be domesticated in all the states of the federation.
“When the Freedom of information law came into existence , some states of the federation adopted it, because it was good policy, so this policy can’t be an exemption.
“The major problem of our nation is corruption. We must support every step taken by President Buhari to fight those that had plunged Nigeria into financial crisis.
While addressing the political detainees at the prisons, Engr. Ojo assured that the party will take all necessary legal and administrative steps to address the perceived injustice against them.
He disclosed that he will put up a committee immediately to liaise with the families of the detainees to know more of their pressing needs that requires urgent attention for him to see how he could be of assistance.
Mrs. Falilat Olabiwonnu who thanked Engr. Ojo for the gesture, desbribed the intention to take up their children school fees as laudable, saying this will help in assuaging their sufferings.
She said ” we want to believe that our husbands were being victimized politically. But we appeal that you leaders should help us to seek justice for them.
“The lives of our children and their future are very important to us. Taking up their bills so that they can return to their schools is a legacy we will never forget”. She Said.
