EFCC nabs 8 suspected internet fraudsters

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibadan zonal office has arrested eight suspected internet fraudsters at Olopomewa, Eleyele, Ajadi and Ologuneru areas of Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.

EFCC operatives picked-up the suspects following several months of discreet intelligence follow-ups and rigorous investigations into the suspects’ alleged clandestine and fraudulent activities of obtaining money from their victims through false pretenses.

The suspects who are between 19 and 36 years of age are Olawale Jamal Ajao, Ominiyi Babatunde, Oluwasanmi Oluwaseun, Akinyemi Toheeb, Olawale Joel, Tayo Yusuf, Yusuf Babatunde and Okolaba Emmanuel.

Several phones, laptops and other incriminating documents were recovered from the suspects.

Head of Operations at EFCC zonal office, Friday Ebelo, said the suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
