Edo guber: Osariemen urges   support for Obaseki

The Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Roy Osatohanmwen Osariemen, has vowed that the entire people of Orhionmwon would remain committed to the course of delivering the party`s  governorship candidate, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, come September 10 election.
Osariemen made the resolution while fielding questions from journalists in his office in Orhionmwon Local Government Area, on Tuesday.
He said that the entire Local Government Area was absolutely behind the candidature of Obaseki despite the fact that Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), was also from that same local government.
“As a member and an executive of the APC in my local government, we are working round the clock to deliver Orhionmwon for Godwin Obaseki. We know Orhionmwon is very peculiar in this election as one of the major opposition candidates is from Orhionmwon, yet, we are assuring him that he (Obaseki) will get our 100% support”, Osariemen said.
.
He urged the aggrieved aspirants who lost out in the primaries to accept the result in good faith as the party could not afford to be divided at this present time that the governorship election was just by the corner and that all hands must be on deck to win it.
“It is laughable with the way some persons were busy spreading rumours that the popularity of the APC candidate was unknown prior to the election. He scored the highest number of votes cast by the representatives of the 192 wards in the state. This went a long way to show the popularity of Obaseki in the state.
“He contested the primaries alongside one-time governor and a former governorship candidate and other political bigwigs to eventually emerged top. He is a popular candidate and I am rest assured that he is the next governor of Edo State”, he said.
