According to reports, the lawmakers said their decision was to remain in the now opposition party in the State on whose platform they were elected.
The state lawmakers also revealed that they would never leave All Progressives Congress(APC) for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as Governor Godwin Obaseki, the incumbent governor did.
Recall the Edo state governor left APC for PDP days after the party disqualified him from its governorship primary.
Meanwhile, the lawmakers also alleged that the state executive led by governor Obaseki has made the legislature irrelevant and unable to perform its functions as enshrined in the constitution.
DailyTImes gathered that apart from Hon Idiaye, the other legislators who declared support for Ize-Iyamu are Hon Emmanuel Agbaje (APC Akoko-Edo II constituency), Hon Nosayaba Okunbor (Orhionmwon East constituency), Hon Dumez Ugiagbe (Ovia Northeast I constituency) and Hon Vincent Uwadiae (Ovia Northeast constituency II).
Reports say the aforementioned lawmakers are among the 10 that were inaugurated in July 2019.
