Despite rift, Gov. Lalong condoled Jang over death of former aid

Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State has dropped his difference with his predecessor, Sen. Jonah Jang, to condole him over the death of his former personal assistant, Mr. Samuel Dung.

Lalong in a statement signed by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Makut, Macham, described the death as painful and huge loss to the people of the State.

The statement reads in part, “the deceased served with passion and commitment leaving no one in doubt that he was a dependable father and husband as well as a worthy assistant to his principal. 


“Such a loss is deeply hurting especially looking at the vacuum created by his demise”.

Lalong however asked the family and former Governor Jang to be comforted by the record of impeccable service the late Dung offered to his principal and the entire State in loyalty, honesty and selflessness.


Our correspondent reports that the late Dung was returning from the burial of late Sen. Longjan Dantong on the 2nd of March, when he slumped and died.
