Dembele: I want to play for Barcelona
The 19-year-old was linked to a move to the Catalan side before he joined Borussia Dortmund and he hopes to make the step to Camp Nou when he is ready
Borussia Dortmund star Ousmane Dembele says he wants to play for Barcelona, but admits he is not ready yet.
The 19-year-old attacker joined Dortmund in summer from Rennes, though Barca were one of many top clubs credited with an interest.
Dembele has got off to a bright start in Germany, having played in every game for Thomas Tuchel’s men so far this season in all competitions.
The France international says he hopes to take a step beyond the Bundesliga club, though, with Barca his main destination.
“Not now, because I want to grow and be a protagonist every Sunday,” he told Mundo Deportivo. “But one day I will play for Barcelona.”
Dembele has scored one and set up four in 10 appearances in all competitions this term. He is contracted to Dortmund until 2021.
