Cultism: Police partner religious leaders in Enugu to curb menace

The Commissioner of Police in Enugu State, Mr Mohammad Danmallam, has said the command was collaborating with religious and community leaders to curb menace of cultism.

Danmallam told newsmen in Enugu that it had become necessary for religious and community leaders to re-orient children that were being misled by “some unscrupulous elements’’.

He said that before now, the command had enjoyed a robust relationship with the state’s Ministry of Education as well as schools on issue of cultism, especially in identifying those misguided into cultism.

“It is clear that the police do not have a correctional facility to put these children in check,” he said.
