Covid 19: Inviting Chinese doctors will increase index cases- Ohaneze youths

Ohaneze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide (OYC) has called on Nigerians to resist any attempt by the federal government to invite Chinese medical doctors into country, saying it might escalate the coronavirus pandemic.

Instead of inviting the Chinese doctors, the Ohaneze Ndigbo Youth Council is suggesting to the federal government that if the country is in dire need of foreign doctors, the destination should be India or Cuban doctors, adding that Chinese doctors are not sincere in medical profession.

The youth council in a statement jointly signed by Okechukwu lsiguzoro president general and Okwu Nnabuike respectively, OYC argued that the figures and claims of Ministers Sadiya Farouk and Lai Mohammed, that over N100m had been disbursed as a ruse.

The body insists that the N100m palliative money had been diverted into personal pockets, stating that “there was systematic looting, by avoiding a credible banking process of using banks to reach out to Nigerians with BVN for the palliative care and stimulus packages.

“Distribution and disbursement of the palliative money put doubts on the minds of Nigerians, who question the credibility of the claims of disbursement of N100m palliative money to Nigerians, by subverting a credible source of banking process, was the best way to cover the monumental looting and financial recklessness associated with the physical distribution and disbursement of palliative money.

“We call for forensic investigation into the activities of Federal Ministry of Humanitarian and Crisis Management, led by Sadiya Farouk”.

“There’s so much hunger and frustration in the country, caused by the lockdown as the preventative method to stop the spread of COVID1-9, Nigerians are gradually getting frustrated daily.

“We call on President Muhammadu Buhari to extend the palliative money to the south, as majority of poor Nigerians reside in the south, the approval of $150 million from the Sovereignty Wealth Fund by Buhari should be shared among the three tiers of government to cushion effects of the coronavirus pandemic.

“OYC is praying for the quick recovery of all the index cases in Nigeria, especially those that had recently tested both positive and negative including the Chief of Staff to Mr. President, Abba Kyari.
