Construct soak away outside fence, go to court – Ikpeazu

 The Abia state government has vowed to prosecute anyone in Aba who constructs any soak away pit beyond his perimeter fence or drain sewage water on the roads.
 Governor Okezie Ikpeazu disclosed this while inspecting the progress of work on the Brass/Faulks road being undertaken by Setraco Construction Company, directing the Abia State Environmental Protection Agency, ASEPA and the Aba Town Planning Authority to commence the process of prosecution of the offenders immediately.
.Frowning at the ugly practice which he said is unfortunate and ought to be discouraged, Ikpeazu expressed satisfaction with the quality and speed of work by the contractor handling the project, noting that the work is progressing according to specifications.
 He mandated the contractor to keep up the speed in order to progress further before the rains set in and assuring that his government is determined to ensure nothing stops or slows down the pace of work, stating that recovering the Ifeobara basin near Ukwu Mango axis is a task that must be accomplished.
 The Governor who also inspected other road projects going on around Ngwa road comprising of Aharandu through Onyebuchi and Ibadan streets, linking Ibere Street, charged the contractor handling the project to speed up work on the project before the next rains.
 Conducting the Governor round the projects, the commissioner for Works, Hon Eziuche Ubani said the roads were being done in line with the designs and specifications, informing the Governor that some buildings that would obstruct the work have been identified and would be handled, assuring that the Governor will be satisfied with the quality of work at the end of the day.
