Cleric after the life of a young man

The family of Ezomo Edison in Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State have cried out for help and security assistance over the constant harassment and threats to the life of their son, Ezomo Edison.

A family member, who spoke to our reporter said that Edison, a barber by profession was living in Lagos State, where he met one Fatima Momoh, a Muslim girl from Auchi, Edo State, who came to visit her uncle in Lagos.

The family member who anonymously, spoke to our reporter, said that the relationship between Fatima and Edison, bloomed and blossomed. The death of Fatima’ s younger brother, in a ghastly motor accident, caused her to return to Benin City. As a show of love, Edison followed her. That was how Edison relocated to Benin City.

It was while they were in Benin City, that Fatima’s father got to know about the relationship between his daughter, Fatima, and Edison. Her father, Alhaji Momoh, the Chief Imam of one of the Mosques in Benin, was not happy about their relationship.

On the other hand, Edison’s family, being Christian family, detested their questionable relationship, considering the discrepancies between the two religions. He also mentioned, that Alhaji Momoh warned and threatened Edison to stay clear from his daughter, due to Edison religious background; Christianity.

He further disclosed, that when Fatima became pregnant, Edison was afraid, agitated and apprehensive because of what would happen to him based on Fatima father’s threats, hitherto. In a bid to terminate the pregnancy via abortion, unfortunately, she died in the process of undergoing abortion. The doctor that carried out the abortion was later discovered to be a quack.

It was learnt that when her father was informed about her death, hell was let loose, as he sent some armed Muslim religion’s fanatics to get rid of Edison in March, 2014.

The volatile and violent Muslim gunmen, constantly terrorized and brutalized Edison’s family with concomitant or accompanying sporadic gun shots into the thin air to scare them the more.

As a result of that, Edison’s mother, who was high blood pressure patient slumped and died due to the fact that her blood pressure got escalated and worsened to uncontrollable level. It was also learnt that, Alhaji Momoh, has two children.

His son died in an extremely bad and horrifyingly shocking manner through ghastly motor accident previously, which made his older sister, Fatima to return to Benin City.

She was now the only surviving child of Alhaji Momoh who just died in the process of undergoing abortion. Her father claimed that, Edison, who belongs to another religion, (Christianity) was responsible for his daughter’s death.

So, Alhaji Momoh was poised to eliminating Edison by all means possible. Since the raid and attack by the gunmen on Edison’s family house, Edison had fled to unknown destination, for fear of being killed by Fatima’s father.
