Chiwetalu Agu, Ruth Kadiri feature movie on recession

Osagie Elegbe, a movie producer and director, would in a couple of weeks’ time premier what he describes as a “blockbuster movie.” He affirmed that the premier would be done “all over the globe.”
According to him, the movie which talks about contemporary Nigerian issue of recession will star top rated Nollywood role interpreters like Ruth Kadiri, Chiwetalu Agu and Kelechi Udegbe among many others.
“The move talks about the need to go back to farming which is the only way that we can address the issue of recession which is biting Nigerians very hard at the moment. We have to return to agriculture if we are serious about solving the biting recession.
“We in the movie world are part of the larger society and as such anything that affects the society affects movie practitioners. We should be able to advice and proffer solutions to such issues and that informed my production of the movie.
“Many innovations are coming to play in this production. I do not want to let out the cat out of the bag right now. When the movie is released in a couple of weeks everyone will bear witness to what we are out to portray” Elegbe disclosed.
Asked to give an estimate of how much was expended in the production of the movie, the lankily built producer/director said that he avoids talking about the amount he spends in putting his works together.
“But I can assure you that quite a large sum of money went into signing the top stars to be part of the project. We are not talking of the numerous sum of money spent on welfare, getting equipment for the production etc.”
On a parting note, Elegbe appealed for unity within the fold of movie practitioners “as that is the only panacea for moving the industry forward.”
