Buhari appoints heads of 3 federal agencies

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of heads of three federal agencies under the ministry of mines and steel development.
The appointments were announced in a statement released by the Permanent Secretary (General Services Office) in the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Olusegun A. Adekunle.
Those appointed are Umar Albarka Hassan, as director – general of the National Steel Raw Materials Exploration Agency with headquarters in Kaduna; Prof. Linus Okon Asuquo as director – general of the National Metallurgical Development Centre, Jos and Prof. Suleiman Bolaji Hassan as director – general of the Nigeria Institute of Mining and Geosciences, Jos.
All the appointment took effect from July 12, 2018 and for an initial period of four years.
According to the statement, the president enjoined the new appointees to use their expertise and varied experiences to reposition and reinvigorate the various agencies.
He also charged them to discharge their duties with utmost rectitude and sensitivity to government’s commitment to enhancing the nation’s mining and steel sector as a major driver of the present administration’s economic recovery and growth plan.
