Breaking news: Tension in Imo state: Gunmen set vehicles ablaze, kidnap commuters
On the 8th May 2025-owerri-tension gripped communities in Imo state on Thursday as unidentified gunmen set ablaze over six trucks, buses and private vehicles.
At least 30 people were killed when gunmen attacked the community. According to amnesty international, the human right NGO reported on Friday that more than 20 commuters vehicles and trucks were set ablaze during the vicious attack.
The attackers which are suspected of being member’s of banned separatist group, Indigenous people of Biafra ( IPOB) also attacked Mr Ndubuisi Dayo who is Youth leader residence on that day but he managed to escape to unknown Destination.

Meanwhile the spokesperson of the Imo state command of Nigeria police Aboki Danjuma in a statement made available to the journalist stated that an injured security operatives were currently receiving treatment for injuries sustained during the attack of 8th May by the unkown gunmen at an undisclosed hospital.
