BREAKING: Arsenal agrees deal to sign Pablo Marí from Flamengo

The deal for Flamengo defender Marí is a loan with an option to buy, according to David Ornstein of The Athletic. 

Arsenal’s current injury situation is far from ideal with Calum Chambers out long-term with cruciate ligament damage and Shkodran Mustafi out shorter-term with an ankle sprain sustained against Bournemouth With Rob Holding still looking rusty after recently returning to the fold, an extra central defender wads a priority for Mikel Arteta and Pablo Mari is his man.

Marí will join the Gunners for the remainder of the 2019/2020 season. Marí was a key figure in Flamengo’s Copa Libertadores and Brasileirão title wins last season.
