The Publicity Secretary, Bauchi State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Yayanuwa Zainabari has expressed optimism that his Party will record landslide victory in the forthcoming general elections in the state.
Zainabari said, “Considering the fact that the electorates in the state are not happy with the performance of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, the PDP will win the 2019 general election”.
While expressing the optimism in an interview with journalists on the chances of the party ahead the 2019 general election, Zainabari pointed out that the PDP has been able to woo the electorates to its side across the state.
Yayanuwa Zainabari added that the PDP has gone round the entire state to create awareness among the electorates on the need to vote for the party in all the elections declaring that the outcome has been positive.
The PDP spokesperson further said that the party has no doubt that all its candidates in the elections will emerge victorious as according to him all of them are tested politicians who have been proven to be honest and outstanding in their respective offices.
While reacting to the recent defection of some politicians in the state to the APC, he assured that the PDP is unperturbed by the development because the people are not comfortable with being in opposition.
Yayanuwa Zainabari particularly said that the former National Deputy Chairman (North) of the party, Babayo Garba Gamawa left the PDP because he could not get any of the party’s ticket particularly that of the deputy gubernatorial candidate which was given to Senator Baba Tela considered to more politically relevant in the Bauchi North Senatorial zone.
He however reiterated that most of the decampees were afraid of prosecution by the various anti-graft agencies that are presently prosecuting them for various financial issues adding that the only way for them to feel safe is to pitch tent and pledge loyalty to the APC.
On the proposed relocation of some collation centers in the state by INEC, Yayanuwa Zainabari assured that the PDP will use every legal means available to ensure that the status quo remains calling on INEC not to do anything that will lead to discrediting the electoral process in the state.
