Arrest northern youth coalition leaders, sponsors, Erarawewho urges FG

Regional Coordinator of the West Africa Youth Conference, Comrade Uyero Erarawewho, has called for the arrest of the Coalition of Northern Youth Leaders and proactive action of the federal government over the October 1, 2017 order to the Igbo’s to leave the North.
Uyero, who made the statement from Burkina Faso on his official visit to the Republic for the setting up of the West Africa Youth Institute of Leadership and Conflict Management, requested the State Security Service and the Nigerian Police Force to arrest the groups’ leaders and sponsors who signed the declaration in Kaduna as the statement is a call for war between the north and east of the country.
According to him, it is very unfortunate that respected leaders of youths congregated and issued such a statement not minding the consequences of their statement and its outcome.
He said that the federal government should not keep a close eye on the statement as there have being killing of the Igbo;’s in the North as forms of Christians and Muslims fight but this statement further exposed the real intention of the Northern Youth as those who are involved in violence across Nigeria are not elderly persons but the Youths.
Uyero added that the issue should be treated without delay as it is an act of incitement which also encourages public disorder or crime, which is detrimental to public interest as mentioned iin section 39(3) of the Nigerian Constitution.
He advised the governors of the South East and elites of the region not to undermine the statement, adding that all Igbo’s in the North should be constantly alert and the military should give full protection to all Igbo’s in the North.
He however, called on those agitating for the Republic of Brafia to have a rethink and agitate for restricting of the country for total federalism in order to allow every region to manage its resources as that’s the only way Nigeria can hold at the centre.
