APGA insists national chair remains suspended

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has insisted that the  embattled National Chairman, Victor Ike Oye remains suspended, warning that he cannot act on behalf of the party anymore.

The NWC which rose from its well attended meeting over the weekend in Abuja opined that the suspension of its former chairman had become inevitable in order to save the party from its fast drifting moves ahead 2019 general elections as well as its gains in the various states of the country.

In a press statement issued in Abuja signed by its Acting National Chairman Ozo Nwabueze Okafor, the NWC also ratified the candidacy of Chief Samuel Adegbite as its flag bearer for the November governorship election in Ondo state just as it returned Elder Godfrey Ehizokhale Ehimhen as the Edo state chairman who the NWC said was unlawfully suspended.

 

The party maintained that, the Ozo Nwabueze Okafor led NWC will continue to support  the leadership of its BOT chairman and national  leader Dr.Willie Maduaburochukwu  Obiano, adding that the committee is satisfied with his leadership.

 

“The issues arising from Akwa Ibom, Kogi, Lagos and Kaduna states of our party shall be revisited in due course, and the General public is hereby advised to desist from any further dealings with our former National Chairman Victor Ike Oye with regards to APGA forthwith.

 

“This leadership shall continue to defend and protect the constitution and manifesto of APGA to the benefit of our teeming followers in Nigeria and in the Diaspora, thereby protecting the aspirations and dreams of our founding fathers, especially our most revered Late Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu. (Eze Igbo Gburu Gburu). We shall continue to collaborate with the leaders of APGA across boards for the onerous purpose of rebuilding, strengthening the party and deepening democracy in Nigeria.

 

“The party under this leadership shall in a short time rescue the party from all forms of political stagnation, lack of accountability,  transparency and squander mania”, The statement added.
