Alumni association opens new secretariat/alumni relations office

The Lagos State University Alumni Association has opened its newly completed Secretariat/Alumni relations Office at the University Main Campus, Ojo.

The building was opened by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olanrewaju Adigun Fagbohun, SAN, supported by the President, LASU Alumni Association, Major General Cecil Esekhaigbe and other officials of the Alumni body.

Other members of the University Management, Staff, Students and members of the Alumni Association were also at the grand opening of the edifice.

Speaking during the opening ceremony, Major General Esekhaigbe was full of praise for members of the Alumni body for their hard work and commitment towards the body and the project.

He also praised the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olanrewaju Fagbohun, SAN, for the providing leadership and support for the Alumni body which ensured that the project was completed within 8 months.

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olanrewaju Fagbohun, SAN, expressed his delight that the project was an evidence of the progress the University is making, stating,“when I came on board, I remember saying that a major pillar on which we will move the University forward is the Alumni. Today, you have made that true that assertion”.

Prof. Fagbohun, SAN, used the opportunity to announce some new projects that are about to birth in the University.

“Today, I can tell you that we have on ground funds to build new facilities at our College of Medicine, Faculty of Education and Faculty of Social Sciences.

“A donor has also promised a fully furnished ICT Centre, just another promised to deliver a fully furnished Technology hub to the University very soon. This event signposts that the Alumni is available and accessible,” he said.

The Chairman, BOT, Mr. Fatai Shonoiki also added his voice before the Vice Chancellor led the dignitaries to open the building to the glory of God and service to humanity.

The President of the Alumni body thereafter led a facility tour of the project as the guests were treated to sumptuous meals and drinks.
