……. Launch Foundation

Popular Naija FM OAP, humanitarian and public speaker Sabina along with her siblings on Monday; June 19, 2017 introduced a new foundation named The Alfred-Winifred Women Foundation in memory of their late parents; Rev. Alfred Oikhala & Deaconess Winifred Isibhakhome Oikhala.

The initial announcement of their mother’s death (who passed away on Saturday; April 8, 2017; aged 74) came after Sabina took to her Instagram page and posted a bitter-sweet message, which reads; “I guess she was preparing to go into labour that day, that year!

Tomorrow is the day God sent me to earth through my mother’s womb, and for the first time in my entire life, my birthday will not be graced with her “open teeth” smile, laughter, energy, joy and prayers! Ha!

Though you’re not physically here mom, YOU ARE VERY MUCH FELT and I can loudly hear your prayers for me too! So as I prepare to release your favourite Ishan song, I pray someone will be encouraged somewhere.”

The Oikhala-Okhalagbe siblings have revealed The Alfred-Winifred Women Foundation is not only aimed at celebrating their parent’s legacy but also giving the women in today’s society a voice and imbuing them with innovation, strength and morality to bring about growth and development so as to better their lives.

Speaking on the decision to introduce the foundation, OAP Sabina had this to say; “We live in a time when the issue of oppression against women isn’t taken seriously, and this hinders the rights of the average Nigerian woman in numerous ways – and as such; the foundation is established to render a helping hand to women going through the numerous ordeals of a contemporary age.

We aim not to only empower our women but also provide them with the avenue to actualize their dreams and set goals. All in all; the foundation is also established to commemorate the names and lives of our late parents. ”

Their late mother was laid to rest recently; on the 17th of June 2017 at Vaults and Gardens Mayfair, after a service in her memory at the New Generation Bible Church, Ojodu, Lagos.
